Eating Out in Dublin - Cheaply

There are different ways of eating out on a budget. You may buy a meal in a café or a budget restaurant or prepare your own food.

Fast Food

Fast Food restaurants such as Burger King and McDonalds are located throughout the city and will not be difficult to find.

Budget Restaurants

(Main Courses up to €15)

Bangkok Café, 106 Parnell St, Dublin 1.

Belgo, 17-19 Sycamore St, Dublin 2.

Fitzer’s, 51 Dawson St, Dublin 2. Also, Temple Bar.

Il Baccaro, Diceman’s Corner, Meeting House Sq, Temple Bar, Dublin 2.

Mao Café and Bar, 2-3 Chatham Row, Dublin 2.

Milano, 61 Dawson St.

South Street Pizzaria, South Great Georges St, Dublin 2.

Buying Your Own Food

Another way is to buy and make your own meals.

For breakfast you could buy a few cereal bars, a piece of fruit and a pint of milk for no more than a few euro.

For lunch you could go to a supermarket or convenience store. (Marks and Spencers Grafton and Henry St; Tesco Jervis Centre, Dunnes St. Stephen’s Centre; Epicurian Food Hall Abbey St) A baguette costs about €1.35, ham €2-5 for four slices depending on the quality.

For dinner you could buy a couple of chicken fillets (about €1.30 each), a jar of stir-fry sauce and some rice and cook at your hostel.
