Gallery of Photography

This is Dublin's only photographic gallery with exhibitions of international and Irish contemporary photographs, posters, and books on photography.

Location: Meeting House Square, Sycamore Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2.
Admission: Free.
Opening Hours: Monday-Saturday, 11am-6pm; Sunday, noon-6pm.

Irish Museum of Modern Art, Kilmainham

Opened in 1991, initially the placing of this in a disused hospital created controversy. The museum displays exhibitions from modern Irish artists.

Opening Times: Tues-Sat 10am-5.30pm, Sun noon-5.30pm

Temple Bar Gallery and Studios

Founded in 1983 in the hearth of Dublin's "Left Bank," this is one of the largest studio/gallery complexes in Europe. More than 30 Irish artists work here at a variety of contemporary visual arts, from sculpture and painting to printing and photography.

The Douglas Hyde Gallery

Housed in a modern building on the Trinity College campus and named after Ireland's first president, this two-storey gallery focuses on contemporary Irish and International avant-garde art, bringing in works from Berlin, Tokyo, and New York as well as London and Paris.

Location: Trinity College, Nassau Street.
Admission: Free.
