Day 1: Cork and Kinsale
Depart Dublin in the morning and travel west to the magical South West. Visit the medieval round tower, chapel, cathedral and castle steeped in 1000 years of history at The Rock of Cashel. Travel south to one of Europe’s most vibrant cities, Cork, which is argued by locals as being the true capital of Ireland. After your stop in Cork head onward bound to kiss the Blarney Stone! Finish this jam packed day on your Overland Ireland small group tour with a night in west Cork’s stunning harbour town of Kinsale – renowned for its award winning restaurants and dramatic scenery.
Day 2: Ring of Kerry
After a stand up paddle board session depart Kinsale for the Ring of Kerry. Visit Killarney National Park, Ross Castle and Torc Waterfall on the world famous Ring of Kerry. Have lunch in the vibrant town of Killarney before traveling on to one of the most beautiful ring roads in the world, wrapped in history, tradition, and spectacular scenery. Take some incredible photos at the cliff edge in Portmagee. We will stay in the coastal town of Dingle. The evening is yours to soak up the atmosphere in Dingle’s famous pubs, fantastic restaurants, and listening to traditional music.
Day 3: Dingle
Start the morning kayaking to meet our famous dolphin, Fungie in Dingle Bay. Let our expert guides take you on a breathtaking trip along Slea Head Drive and finish off your perfect day at the Dingle Whiskey Distillery. Sample their celebrated whiskey and gin and get an education on the history of whiskey production around the world. We spend another night in the buzzing town of Dingle so you don’t need to repack your suitcases. Relax and enjoy the town.
Day 4: Cliffs of Moher and Lahinch
Leave Dingle via the dramatic Connor Pass and cross the River Shannon to leave the South West behind. We are entering county Clare now, home to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher and the Burren National Park. Spend the evening in Lahinch, the hometown of Irish surfing. Weather and waves permitting we will take a plunge in the Atlantic ocean with Ben’s Surf Clinic.
Day 5: Galway
Visit the 16th Century castle, Dunghuaire Castle at the quaint fishing village of Kinvara - The gateway to Ireland's Culture Capital of Galway. This city is renowned for its pleasures. Brightly painted pubs heave with live music, while cafes offer front-row seats for observing street performers, musicians and local characters. After a cycling tour through the streets and waterways discovering Galway’s hidden gems you are free to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, great food and craic in this much celebrated city. You will depart Galway on the GoBus service. Our guides will send you out armed with recommendations for Dublin City if you have a bit of time left on your tour of Ireland.
