Bar Pintxo is the sister restaurant of The Port House on South William Street which has been enjoying a very successful year since its inception in July 2006. The eagerly anticipated Bar Pintxo will serve an array of tapas and pintxos as well as an extensive range of fine wines, ports and sherries. Located at 12 Eustace Street this beautiful candle-lit, bodega style tapas bar is spread over the ground floor and basement of the building with a seating capacity for eighty people. Expertly trained staff will be on hand to help you choose your wine selection from the shelf while sampling the different types of pintxos and tapas. Wines from the Rioja, Navarra and Getariako Txakolina regions of The Basque were sourced by the management team at The Port House and Bar Pintxo, with unusual wines such as Txakolina and ports such as Dow’s Fine White Port being firm favourites of customers. Over thirteen different ports are served by the glass and signature dishes of Bar Pintxo include Pulpo a la Gallega, an octopus dish and the traditional Spanish paella dish served with either chicken or seafood. The pintxo's are a bit lacking in number, but its a minor nit. Theres a good winelist here too, which will definitely bring me back again. It was a bit dead on a Tuesday, but thats to be expected. Graze your way through the menu - all the dishes we had were fab. Totally recommend! It is the sister restaurant of the PortHouse and it is just as good! We got 6 tapas (or pinchos!) between us which was way too much! Chicken wings, deepfried prawns (with the most delicious garlic sauce!), ham croquetas, albondigas, paella and a big plate of mini chorizos. Everything went down a treat and together with half a caraf of the house wine, the bill was less than €50! The service was fine, would definitely recommend it as a place to grab a quick bite before heading out, as you can pick and choose as many of as a few dishes as you wish! Excellent tapas, I haven't had better since I was in Spain. Really good atmosphere and excellent service and the wine selection is brilliant. The atmosphere is really nice and the style of the bathrooms is a suprise bonus! The inside is very dark and atmospheric, and the food is good quality tapas at a reasonable price. The flavours are strong, the chorizo in red wine is a favourite, as are the potatas bravas. They also do a good selection of wines and beers. A great place for a cheap night out. Joined Jun 08 16 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Ate here with a group of 17, everyone loved the dark candley interior and quirky toilet ( although separating boys and girls would make it even better), the food was very very good and considering there were so many of us we were impressed with how quickly everything was ready. We were very well fed and had lots of wine yet the bill was still surprisingly low. Have to mention our waiter, he took photos for us, presented presents to people, served us our food quickly, and really made the night, we wanted to take him home with us. Great venue for a party, holds a larger crowd than the Porthouse ( max 15) and is much more spacious. Joined Nov 08 77 Reviews 1 Hats Off! loading... The decor is fantastic, it has a real underground/LA vibe to it which i really enjoyed. We were luckily seated outside in the terrace which i do recommend. Myself and my partner ordered to share...we had the chistorra (sausages skewered on bread) which was fantastic; the paella which was probably the best i have had in Dublin (it was so nice i was tempted to order a second portion); we also had the croquettes filled w/ serrano ham and pinchos morunos (chicken marinated w/ paprika nd oregano). Both were ok but i would be tempted to try something different next time i do come back. All washed down with a large glass of wine each, the bill came to 32.00e which was reasonable. One negative thing about the evening was that we arrived for the 'Menu Rapido' (which is advertised on menupages) but in asking the waiter he said that the Menu Rapido was only in their sister restaurant. Was disappointing as the Menu Rapido was what had attracted us to the restaurant in the first place. The terace was fully seated so we sat inside. The waiter made us sit at a table for two people even though there was a free table beside us that we could have used. Apart from that we really enjoyed our night. We were not rushed to get out of the restaurant and were given some nibbly bits at the very end of the night to drink with our wine. The meal was great value only 25 euro each and we drank a lot of wine so were expecting it to be higher. I will deffinitly be back. And the toilets are a must see when your there. << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 46] Next > Last Page >>
