Bleu bistro is located in the heart of St Stephens Green / Dawson St Area & offers superb seasonal french bistro style food with an emphasis on Quality & Value. Bleu is ideal for either lunch or dinner, and our pre theatre menu is ideal as its proximity to the gaiety theatre is a mere 2 minute stroll away, Our Sunday lunch runs from 12-5pm (booking advisable) and is ideal as our location is opposite St Stephens Green which is wonderful for a Sunday stroll. The innovative menu takes a modern style bistro approach to french cuisine with an occaisional nod to the french classics, all our produce is from only the best suppliers and artisans such as maurice kettyle where our beef for all our restaurants is dry aged, fillets 21 days & ribs 28 days, our fish comes from mourne seafoods, hanlons & garrett doran, we have our own small farm in kilternan where we grow & supply our restaurants with organic salad leaves herbs & vegetables as much as possible. The carefully selected wine list represents excellent value & is sourced from renowned experts such as wines direct, morgons, paddy moore, quintessential, richard verling, vendimia, berrys bros, vin italia amongst others. MariaR (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 45%   Visited: 25 Jun 2010 | Posted: last month We were in Bleu for the first time last night. First contact when booking was good. Very friendly and helpful. It was quite busy, but the service was very efficient and our waiter got friendlier as the evening went on. We opted for the Early Bird. You have two hours from whatever time you arrive as long as it's before seven, which is plenty of time to relax and enjoy the meal. The food was really tasty, particulary the aubergine with goat's cheese and the chicken accompanied by mushroom risotto. Portions were very good. Excellent skinny fries were extra. The only criticisms I would have were the coffees were a bit steep at €3.45 a go, and a bottle of Heineken was ridiculously expensive at €6.85. This aside, we will definitely be back! We had 1 vegetarian with us and there wasn't much choice for a vegetarian (non fish eating) but they did make a mushroom risotto for her. The starters were good. My main course was luke warm so I asked for it to be reheated. They didn't reheat it but brought me a fresh, hot main instead. The manager is really efficient and helpful but the service staff were very busy and we had to ask a number of times for water and for oil & balsamic to go with the bread. I had the Wexford straberry dessert and there was a disappointing amount of strawberries. The tables are very close together and I just cannot see why the restaurant is so busy and popular. I had the fish cake starter which was fab. For my main I had the free range chicken and it was possibly the nicest chicken I have ever tasted. Cooked to perfection. My partner also really enjoyed his meal. The service was a lil slow at the start but made up for it in the end. The €25 deal is brilliant and I will recommend to others. :) Joined May 10 2 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... blooms (Newbie) Credibility Score: 10%   Visited: 15 May 2010 | Posted: 2 Months ago we had a great meal here for our night out but must agree with the previous reviewer ease up on the salt please, had the crab risotto and while it could have been a great dish we agreed it was over salted but overall we really enjoyed our dinner though it was well cooked especially fish seems to be a strong point perfectly cooked and extremely good value service was charming throughout, very nice restaurant. I had chicken liver parfait to start - it had a lovely texture and a subtle flavour. My accomplice had cauliflower veloute and thought it excellent. He was equally pleased with his cod for the main course. It was an excellent piece of fish, but the dish was a little bland, I thought. By contrast the mushroom risotto that accompanied my chicken was too salty, though the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and plentiful. We shared a creme brulee for dessert: it was rich and creamy and with a lovely delicate flavour. The service was prompt and friendly and in spite of the fact that the tables are very close together, this was generally a relaxing and pleasurable experience << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 32] Next > Last Page >>
