Botticelli is a long established Italian restaurant situated in the heart of Temple Bar and is open every day for lunch and dinner. Our restaurant is one of the few in the Dublin City Centre serving food until midnight with opening hours from 12.30pm to 12am. Botticelli has seating for 120, with both le Bar and River Liffey views, suitable for any occasion. We pride ourselves on serving quality authentic Italian food at the reasonable price, with friendly and efficient service. Botticelli offers a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes, including an extensive choice of pizza and pasta, in addition to meat and vegetarian dishes. We use only the freshest ingredients, sourced directly from Italy wherever possible. Our exclusively Italian wine list contains wine from the most renowned wine region in Italy, including Piedmont, Tuscany and Sardinia. Botticelli’s gelato parlour, situated next to the main restaurant, produces a large range of traditional Italian ice-cream. Our ice-cream is also available in the restaurant and we highly recommend it to our customers as the prefect finish to a truly authentic meal. Noone had any complaints about the food which is unusual for a large group. Waiting staff extremely friendly and accomodating. Good value for money. Will definitely be back. We took our time to order as we were still waiting for a few diners to join us, including the birthday boy. The restaurant was starting to fill up with people which seemed to promise a delightful evening. The service unfortunately was not as expected. It was seen that many tables that had arrived after us had gotten their main course before we even got our starters. Having ordered a little late, it took almost forty-five minutes for us to get about two starters on the table. Antipaso All’Italiana which was a selection of meats such as salami with some salad and Gamberi Con Rucola which were tiger prawns on a bed of rockets. I had the tiger prawns which went very well with the rocket but were very bland to eat alone. For my main course I had a Pizza Funghi. This really did change my opinion of the food at Botticelli. The freshness of the sauce on the pizza was evident from the beautiful fragrant taste of the tomatoes! However again it took a very long time to get a small amount of food to the table. Overall the atmosphere was quite loud which of course is not the restaurants fault. The slow service I thought was as a result of being understaffed on a busy Friday evening. This unfortunately brought down the standard of the restaurant. From having to wait for your food longer than it took you to finish it to not having water replaced at the table, the service was missing key elements. Some of the staff were very friendly but it could be seen that they were under a lot of pressure. We still got a cake out for our friend none the less with a dramatic dimming of the lights from the staff which was received quite well. I would recommend this as a casual place to eat and if you go in on a busy night prepare to wait for your food. I was a bit late (1.50) so there weren't many still eating. The lunch menu is €9.80 for which I had an tasty minestrone, an excellent spagetti carbonara and washed it down with a jug of water with a cappuchino to finish. Helpings were very generous. As expected, the choice is limited but adequate. Service was fast and friendly and definitely to be recommended at lunch time. I'll have to go back in the evening to see what it's like for dinner. Bruschetta for himself & crostini with mozzarella & prosciutto for me to start with.. Mains were fettucine bolognese & rigatoni al'arrabiata. A glass of really nice white for me. a shared icecream, a double espresso & a cappuccino brought the bill to a reasonable €45. Not bad at all. Would definitely return '); //--> Joined Aug 09 15 Reviews 1 Hats Off! loading... The menu could do with being varied every so often but there is something for everyone. The bruschetta is great as are pasta dishes. Never ordered the pizza but my dining companion did and really enjoyed it. Would return. Joined Nov 09 10 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Its definitely no fine dining type of place, but its great craic with a group here in the evening. If you can get in early for lunch, the windo seat on the temple bar side is great for people watching on a nice day! There was basically no atmosphere (although you can't fault a place on that as it was off-peak hours). Waiter wasn't the friendliest, considering we were one of onky 2 tables he had to serve. Food was fairly average. Great price but not the best food. While I would go back here again for the lunch deal cost, the food would and has turned me off returning unless I'm broke! The Service and Value buttons wouldn't let me move them, but I would give service a 2.5 and value a 4.5 Joined Mar 10 12 Reviews 1 Hats Off! loading... foodholic (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 34%   Visited: 04 Jan 2010 | Posted: over 2 months ago First experience at this restaurant, as part of a large table for a work leaving do. Very disappointed overall. Service was very poor with a rude and brusque waiter. Very unapproachable and I felt I was a hinderance when I asked for some condiments and drinks. As this restaurant served Italian cuisine, I felt I could not go too far wrong with bruschetta for starter and margarita pizza for dessert. Unfortunately I was very wrong. Bruschetta was tasteless and served on stale bread. Pizza sauce had no flavour whatsoever and base was very doughy and chewy. I finished off with some homemade icecream which was the only good part of the meal. I will not be returning or recommending to friends. << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 13] Next > Last Page >>
