Their delicious sandwiches at really good prices and very generous portions should definately be followed by the cheesecake, nicest I have had in a while! The spiced beef sandwich is excellent. After a long time away from Cafe en Seine I will happily return soon ! Everytime I time I'm in Dublin I try to get there either for a bite to eat or a drink in the evening. The staff are always super friendly and the food has always been very very good. Its definitely one of the most beautiful places in Dublin and I always consider it a treat going there. Great food, good prices, generous portion sizes, excellent service, great staff and perfect Guinness. My favourite place in Dublin. Love it! Given the price of the drinks, I would suggest coming hear for lunch as opposed to dinner when you may be tempted to stay for a few drinks afterwards. The lunch counter offers superb big bowls of hearty soup and impressive sandwiches and the prices are not at all bad. The carrot cake is to die for. The atmosphere here is great and the decor is opulent. The crowd is mixed but overall upper class. It doesn't feel crowded with its high celings but it can be difficult to find a table at times. The relaxed feel makes it a great hideaway from the hustle and bustle of a day spent shopping on Grafton Street. Perfect for girly lunches with its feeling that you are being treated to a little luxury. Sundays are special here with jazz and it would be a great place to while away the afternoon or to impress your friends visiting the city. I was bringing an American friend who absolutely loved the decor, and the name which she reckoned would be called Cafe Insane back home in southern USA. With the sunshine streaming through the stainglass roof the place looked great, and there were very few around so we had the undivided attention of the server. We ordered drinks first, I had a glass of white wine - Pinot Grigio and my friend had a pint of Guinness and we also ordered from the Gourmet menu. We both went for the Tiger Prawn & Smoked Salmon open sandwich. We didn't have to wait long. I was nicely surprised by the presentation of the dish. Four huge very hot perfectly formed chips were on one side of the plate, a small very tasty salad with honey mustard dressing on the other side, and in the middle two slices of delicious brown bread, one covered with Smoked Salmon with sauce underneath, and the other topped with prawns. It was a really delicious dish except I did not think the prawns warranted the 'Tiger' name as they were quite small. We had a cappuccino each to finish. Our server was very helpful and friendly, and we never had to wait long for anything we had ordered. My only gripe was the gourmet menu is a little pricey, but the food was delicious. I would highly rate the food at this Cafe, and the service too. The decor of this place is great and a perfect spot to bring my foreign friends. I was very dissapointed. The lunch choice was very limited. The portion sizes on lunch were tiny and really felt that it was very poor value for money. I have visited here on a night out and it was great, they just don't seem to cut it with the lunch food won't be visiting for food again. It's really good value. The steak was really nice. The portions are not massive but good if you are not too hungry or want to have a starter or desert too. The only thing to remember is that everyone has to have a voucher each. The food was ok - nothing special given the price. I had a Hot Spiced Beef with salad and fries. The fries were those skinny type which I didn't like so much. The salad was nice. Service was excellent. << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 15] Next > Last Page >>
