Last Sunday breakfast was a treat after a heavy night out and there was no disappointments, I like a hot cup of tea with a fry and this was delivered with a smile and that knowing look. A bit of a mix up with the orders eggs and no eggs but it was all sorted with pleasant efficiency, well worth a try! Joined Apr 10 24 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Despite the fact that this cafe is in a department store, it's bright and fairly spacious, you manage to feel detached from the world of shoppers on the other side of the glass walls. The food is lovely, and you can choose from a starter or main sized portion with many of the dishes, or add a grilled chicken breast for a small charge. Despite one incident when a waiter wasn't very helpful or polite when it came to accommodating a wheelchair user, the service is very efficient, and the staff are friendly. I had French toast with maple syrup - it was light fluffy and delicious - the nicest I've ever had, the cappuccinos and lattes were lovely and the staff were polite! Only thing is that u have to go up to the register if u wnat to pay by credit card - Dying to try the salmon bagel with cream cheese next time!! It was very busy for this visit but we were seated fairly quickly. I ordered the goats cheese bruschetta and it was a good sized very tasty portion. My mum had the advocado and pancetta salad which arrived minus the pancetta. Once we realised what was missing we tried to get our waiters attention this took awhile, when he eventually came over to us and we explained the error is attitude was, well what do you want me to do? he didn't even say sorry which would have been nice. He begrudingly offered us a free coffee which we gladly accepted. Coffees were fine, when it came time to get the bill our waiter was impossible to get and two other members of staff we asked promptly fell off the face of the earth! In the end we just went to the till to pay. Once in the morning for coffee and a delicious Lemon and poppyseed muffin and then later for a mimo salad, which was also delicious, we each got the starter size which was perfect for lunch. On both occasions we were not waiting long for a table and the staff were attentive. The best place for a light lunch in Dundrum. Had a perfect lunch of steak sandwich and fries and coffee to follow. My only complaint is , any time I order a coke here it is always flat. My advice dont pour warm coke onto cold cold ice!
