The latest addition to Chatham Street is already a winner, with a huge portrait window that you can gaze at the passers-by from. The food is excellent and the service friendly and efficient. We both decide to go for the lunch special menu. I had mussels as starter and my friend the calamari. Seatrout with oat crust as the main course for both of us. Good size portion and well balanced flavours as far as the main course is concerned, not too overwhelming. Did not like the starter that much but that is probably due to the fact that I am not a cilantro fan. The glass of wine was included on the menu and although we did not choose it, have to say it was very pleasant. A bit disappointed with the expresso as I wish it had a bit more of "creme", but I do understand it depends on the quality of the coffee grounds and on the machine itself. Will go back. Have eaten here before. Because of the warm weather they had the front of the restaurant wide open which was bliss as it allowed a little cool air to float in & out. Staff were super friendly but not annoying. Food yum, very tasty (perfect hangover food!), two of us had fish & chips, I had the burger which was pretty big! Lovely chunky chips but the option of skinny fries are there also. Gorgeous bottle of pink fizz on special offer. Had strawberries & shortbread with vanilla cream for dessert, DIVINE summer dessert. All & all a lovely day, they certainly didnt rush us and had no problem putting a candle in a scoop of icecream for our birthday girl. Would highly recommend and definately will go back. Were seated at a lovely table close to a wide open window which let the summery atmosphere on Chatham Street flood in. The service was excellent, we were brought bread and water as soon as we were seated. Our water was topped up throughout the meal (no hard sell on bottled water here). We went for the early bird €17.95 for two courses - chicken terrine for starter was excellent - minestone soup was OK - a bit heavy on the peas! We had chicken and steak for our mains both of which were delicious and substantial. With a bottle of Rose the bill came to €60 which we thought was really good value. Will be visiting again. It was nicely busy and the atmosphere was buzzing perfect for a sunny Saturday afternoon. We ate off the brunch menu which offered a limited yet varied choice. I opted for the eggs Benedict and she had the omelette with smoked cheddar and mushrooms both accompanied with roster wedges. Presentation was good and it looked delicious and was tasty but I was disappointed with my eggs. They should have been softly poached with a runny yolk however they were overcooked and hard in the middle. To accompany brunch we had a bottle of frizzante reasonably priced at €26 and she had a strawberry daiquiri. Very enjoyable experience and probably will return to check the eggs Benedict again as its a classic brunch dish. Service was good but loses points for not allowing to taste the wine and no member of staff said thank you or goodbye upon leaving the restaurant.Only small things but a thank you goes a long way! I really like it here... the atmosphere is good, they are very welcoming to children and the food has never let me down. Its not the cheapest in the area but because the quality of the food is so good its worth it. I had the mussels to start and then the fish of the day and we had the sponge pudding to finish, which I wasnt mad on but thats just personal opinion. We also had the chicken wings which are lovely and the homemade chunky chips which are huge and soooo filling!! the star of the show was the leek and bacon gratin that came with the fish, it was amazing!! I'll keep coming back here for the food and the location. I'm not a salt person, nothing to do with health just think if food is cooked good it shouldn't need it added, but the risotto I had for main needed an awful lot. apart from where there was parmasen it was completely bland. My partner got fish and chips, nothing more than average at an above average price!!! I had to send back my creme brulee dessert. It was stone cold but still tasted burned but our waitress, who I must say was really plesent, had no problem taking it off the bill. Dont think I'll be returning << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 24] Next > Last Page >>
