"It felt Paris, and for a wet Sunday night in Dublin, that's not bad going" - Irish Independent; "Max de Laloubie has re-created a little corner of Paris next to Dublin Castle" - Irish Times. Like in France, we celebrate the 'Beaujolais Nouveau' with accordion live music during the evening Restaurant Reviews Add Your Review » Your Say Joined Sep 09 18 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... EEIrish (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 48%   Visited: 10 Jul 2010 | Posted: last week We were a group of 6 people so got a nice table to the side. The centre tables for 2 are very close together. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff very friendly. As it was a Saturday night there was no early bird or special offers which is a pity as our reservation was for 5.30pm. We ordered 6 mains and 2 desserts and had 3 bottles of wine. We all found our food really tasty which included duck breast, moules, pork belly and beef bourguinon. Wine was lovely too though there are no cheap options on the menu. 12% service charge was added on as we were 6 people. Bill came to €33 each. Overall it was lovely and we all agreed we would eat there again. Nice deserts and lovely staff, but after that its not great, in our opinion '); //--> Joined Jun 10 5 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... rachc (Newbie) Credibility Score: 24%   Visited: 25 Jun 2010 | Posted: 3 Weeks ago I went with my boyfriend here on Friday night as we had been wanting to try it for a while and always heard good reports. The restuarant is very cute and staff very pleasant. However the food is pretty awful. We both ordered the foi gras which had no taste whatsoever. For mains I had the halibut which looked so over done, almost chicken like whilst he had the pork belly. This was dreadfull particulary the sauce looked gloopy. The only thing that saved the meal was the semi decent creme brulee and the wine. We were both left very dissappointed. Sweet restuarant but dreadful food Joined May 07 50 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... trix (Guru) Credibility Score: 86%   Visited: 24 Jun 2010 | Posted: 3 Weeks ago Had the moules and frits here last night. They were very good. I love the décor here, its like being in a small restaurant in Paris. Great little location too, just beside the gates into Dublin Castle. It can be a bit cramped, but theres a lovely atmosphere inside. We enjoyed our meal here very much! '); //--> Joined Apr 10 24 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... The service was good and our waiter was very polite. Will defenetely go again as they can accommodate larger group bookings. Joined Apr 10 4 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Georgia2010 (Newbie) Credibility Score: 22%   Visited: 06 Mar 2010 | Posted: 2 Months ago You have to go here even if it is just to sample the Moules Frites - easily the best I've had outside France. Food, service and ambience is always fantastic in here. The one downside is that due to its size(which helps maintain the great atmosphere) can feel a little cramped on a busy night. I had eaten there about 2 years ago and was disappointed with the food then also. Today I had moules frites and my friend had a creamy rice dish. Her chicken was very ordinary, my frites were lovely if a little salty but the mussels were a total let down, dry and shrivelled as if very overcooked. We could have got much better food and better value elsewhere. However, everything is made up for with the food. The starters were lovely, it's french in the sense where the food is tasteless for flavorings, instead you taste the food for the food. I'm not making sense here. For starters, the snails tasted more or snails than flavourings.. yet you can taste the richness in the butter and herbs used. For mains, the duck was what it was.. you taste the game in duck meat. So it was really an experience for the food rather than flavours. A nice place, but NOT the place to head to if you plan to talk.. It's a small place and because the tables are so closely arranged, it's hard to hear anything said apart from the roars of yr neughbouring table. For the food, I'd return! << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 25] Next > Last Page >>
