Intimate and welcoming, Chez Sara Wine Bar serves simple, home made food at reasonable prices. Great list of wines by the glass. Enjoy a bottle or a glass of wine over some fine French cheese. Can cater for private functions of up to 40 people. The atmosphere was cozy and very european. French music played in the backround as we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine from thier extensive wine list. The service was excellent, no complaints there at all. The staff were very attentive and always made themselves available. The produce and meat were all very fresh and prepared by the chef who is on display for everyone to see. My wife didn't like her pate but i loved it. I had the duck for my main, and my only complaint was that there was no skin. Great place overall. I'm definitely going to come back and strongly recomend it. Small place - accommodates perhaps 16 people. One chef who mesmerised me - that one person can prepare so much food on his own and yet seem to relaxed. We each had difference starters that everyone enjoyed. I had shank of lamb for my main course and it fell off the bone. There was no room for desserts. The four of us were very happy with our meal and the service was excellent. The bill was very reasonable - surprisingly so, I thought. Yep, I'll be back here. I selected this restaurant after seeing the reviews on menupages.ie and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, my husband had fish for both starter and main course and I had pate and chicken. We were unable to have a dessert due to the large portions of food. What we loved about this little restaurant was there was no rush between courses, we had plenty of time to digest our food. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone. MamaT (Newbie) Credibility Score: 28%   Visited: 26 Feb 2010 | Posted: over 2 months ago After reading the reviews here on Menupages we decided to book Chez Sara for an evening meal. I found the restaurant delightful. The food was delicious and plentiful. The wine list was reasonably priced. We shared a Prawn and Scallop starter and for mains had the Lamb and Red Snapper. Clean plates all round! Most enjoyable and will definately be back. It is very intimate, and cosy. We were sitting between a thankfully unlit fireplace and the open kitchen, where we could watch the lone chef at work. No starters but we had the steak which was perfectly cooked and a special mention for the grilled duck breast, which was fabulous. Chocolate fondant for dessert - too rich and sweet. Took the house recommended red which was very nice. Overall, great food, and at a good price - definitely a restaurant to return to.
