Effortlessly positioned on the mezzanine level overlooking the hotel lobby, Citron is for people with a lust for life. The design is characterised by the colour palate; zesty lime and lemons off set against the chalky white terrazzo, the woven white bar front and the dark timber floor, the ceiling is a collection of low flying ovoid forms, which gently glow. This buzzing venue serves innovative modern urban cuisine in chic surroundings. The food was very tasty and I found it pretty authentic. The atmostphere was also great, very lively and usually not so busy. It was a place for a quiet romanctic meal I thought. Great drinks menu although pricey. Overall a great night out there. I got the asparagus & feta salad and my boyfriend got the duck salad, we were both really impressed with them and my boyfriend usually hates salad. pork belly and salmon roulade for mains which were tasty although the centre of the roulade was a little undercooked so I didn't eat that bit. Desserts were good but nothing memorable, all in all it was a very nice meal at a good price Joined Feb 07 40 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... cjudge109 (Guru) Credibility Score: 87% Visited: 12 Oct 2009 | Posted: over 2 months ago I confess I'd never heard of Citron until I saw it on the Dine In Dublin list. As soon as I saw scallops and crème brulee on menu I got excited and booked table of three. I was torn between the Asparagus, Red Onion & Warm Feta Cheese Salad and the Duck, Rocket and Cherry Tomato Salad to start however one of us went for the former and two of us went for the Duck it was ok a little too sweet with the honey in the honey, ginger and soy dressing really coming through but when I tasted my friends warm feta cheese salad I knew I had made the wrong call. My friend liked my duck better as she found the red onions a little bit overpowering so we swapped and both were happier. For main I went for the Pan-seared Scallops served on fresh linguini pasta with tomato concasse, spring onion, asparagus tips and fish emulsion. The scallops were beautifully cooked and the dish was very tasty, if I had only a minor criticism I would say the sauce could have done with a kick of heat or acidity just to lift it a little. My friends went for Char Grilled Sirloin of Beef and Baked Roulade of Salmon wrapped in Seaweed I was selfishly hoping one of them would go for the Pan-fried Belly of Pork served with a clonakilty black pudding mash, as I was dying to taste it. However it was clean plates all round and everyone was happy with mains. For desserts, we went for the Classical Panna Cotta,White Chocolate Chip Cheese Cake and Golden Raisin Crème Brulee. My friend's Panna Cotta had a sable biscuit topped with strawberry compote- which she gave to me, one word - yummy. In fact that applied to all desserts. And all for €25.00 - we left very happy and nicely full.
