About Day Trip to Wicklow and Glendalough from Dublin

  • Day Trip to Wicklow and Glendalough from Dublin

Tour Code: 3703P30

Duration: 9 hours

Join one of the top rated day trips from Dublin, the Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough. Fall in love with Ireland!

Wicklow’s green mountainous landscape and glacial lakes, heather fields and boglands (which have featured in movies like P.S. I Love You and Braveheart) will become some of your most treasured photos of Ireland, guaranteed!

With 2 main stops along the Wicklow mountains tour route (Glendalough and a Traditional Irish Pub) a short stop at Glencree and the spell binding Guinness lake (Vikings series), you’ll be spoiled with photo opportunities and things to do.

Glendalough is home to one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century and from this developed the “Monastic City”.

Lough Tay is a small but scenic lake set in the Wicklow Mountains in County Wicklow, Ireland. It lies between the mountains of Djouce and Luggala, and is most easily viewed from above, from the R759. It is fed by the Cloghoge River, which then drains into Lough Dan to the south. The northern coastline forms part of an estate belonging to the Guinness family; it is edged with a beach of startlingly white sand, the dark peaty water and the white sand create a striking similarity to a pint (a glass) of Guinness.
