Discover the rich history, the folklore, the great buildings, the unique atmosphere of Dublin, with a guided bike tour. Get a sense of the city’s energy, its history, culture and wit; its distinguished citizens – from Joyce to Bono. This tour uncovers Dublin’s charm. There are no hills and the pace is relaxed.
Participants must be competent cyclists. We also insist that hi-vis bibs and helmets are worn. It is a condition of participating in the tour.
Your tour starts at the Daintree Building on Pleasant's Place and takes in College Green, Dublin Castle, the Guinness Brewery, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Temple Bar, the ‘Italian Quarter’, O’Connell Street, the Millennium Spire and the General Post Office, Parnell Square and the Georgian northside, Merrion Square and the Oscar Wilde memorial.
But that’s only the start. Your comprehensive tour will take in hidden gems along the way – Gray Street’s Catholic Emancipation monument; the 18th century Roe’s Distillery windmill; Blessington Street Basin, Google’s European HQ, and more.
You will then make your way east towards the bay to ‘new Dublin’ and the Grand Canal Dock area. The tour winds back to base via Merrion Square, Dáil Éireann (the Parliament) and St Stephen's Green.
Along the way, you’ll hear about Dublin’s history, its literary and musical traditions, and the events and personalities that shaped the city’s character, from your tour guides.
