Dublin's hottest, hip and much talked about restaurant Fire on Dawson is comfortable 200 seat eclectic restaurant, a food lover's haven situated to the left of the Lord Mayor's Residence in the heart of Dublins' city centre. Offering a modern European menu with a twist, Fire on Dawson offers something mouth-watering to suit every taste. The tantalising lunch menu is available Thursday to Saturday, whilst the pre theatre menu runs 6 days a week. The a la carte menu is also available from 5.30pm Monday - Wednesday, or from 5pm Thursday to Saturday. With its stylish interior & new refurbished heated terrace, Fire provides a unique setting for a memorable dining experience. An absolute must to anyone visiting Dublin. The salad starter was lovely, I ordered the fillet steak for mains as did many of the people on my table and we were in agreement that these couldn't possibly be fillet cuts and if they were, they were very poor. What was served was lovely and well cooked but we were disappointed as we most certainly paid 'fillet' prices. The White chocolate and strawberry cheesecake for afters was beautiful!! full points! The restaurant itself is gorgeous and a good wine list (I recomment the Pinot Grigio) However I think its too overpriced for what you get. It was very expensive, The price would put me off returning. Last visit 30th Dec.Has disimproved greatly in quality and quanity of food and value for money especially in these times. Will not be going again when there is so much good value available in lots of other good restaurants. While the food is nice, thats all it is, nothing special. Service was reasonable, they were friendly but at times it was very slow. And then there's the value, or lack of. Fire is over priced for what you get. There are dozens of restaurants in Dublin where you will get better food at a better price. I couldn't recommend Fire and won't be back. Thought it might have been too quiet but wanted to celebrate on the day. Very impressed with service, decor and food. Restaurant was about 1/3 full but everything was perfect. Great menu choice - but do have their signature prawn dish. Many of their starters can be ordered as a main course which was a nice touch but just gave me even more choice to dither over. My husband had fillet steak which he thought was melt in the mouth. We could only manage the selection of ice cream and sorbet to share for desert but a really nice touch when it was brought to the table with a birthday candle and Happy Anniversary in chocolate scroll on the plate. Attention to detail makes all the difference. Would recommend Fire and plenty of choice across the road for a cocktail or two afterwards . . . The steak was fantastic, melt in the mouth. Very friendly waiting staff, even brought an extra dessert when we couldn't decide on which to try. Joined Aug 09 3 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Caprese&Proseco (Newbie) Credibility Score: 30%   Visited: 29 Jun 2010 | Posted: last month After trawling the internet to decide on which restaurant to visit for an "early bird/pre-theatre" dinner we settled on FIRE based on reviews, menu and previous personal experience. Booked a table over phone, very friendly front of house staff took booking, on arrival we were greeted very warmly at reception and seated by very personable gentleman on front desk. Given our menu's we saw a large choice starters (5)and mains (6), you can opt for 2 courses for 23.95, or 3 for 28:95. We all had a different starter and they all were delicious, I had the Antipasti plate, which came on a large bread board with a selection of cheese, salami, meats,Olives and tapanade with warm bread sticks, it was fab and enough for two! Mains also came out promptly and all went down well, I had Pan Fried Cod which came with lovely chunky chips. Our service was quick but our waiter was not very pleasant, seemed we were something of an inconvenience to him, no eye contact and absolutely no conversation, made for uncomfortable evening. Only decided to mention same to management when on leaving our waiter couldn't even manage a Thank You or a goodbye as we passed him. Shame when one bad apple can let down all the hard work of others, namely kitchen and front desk staff who obviously all work hard! Fire restaurant promptly confirmed my booking through e-mail and were very kind to telephone me on the evening before to check that we were still happy with our arranged time and number of guests. We went to eat at Fire on Saturday night as a party of 6. We were greeted on arrival by friendly and courteous staff that performed their duties very well throughout the entire evening. The interior décor of the restaurant is magnificent to say the least. This is an ideal location for large parties to eat out as there is so much space inside so they can easily accommodate larger parties. There was a great buzz about the place, a bustling crowd giving the place a great atmosphere. We sampled all kinds of food from the menu, soups, salads, prawns, smoked salmon, chicken, steaks and deserts, there were very few morsels left behind. All of our guests said they enjoyed their meals and we would certainly be happy to come back again. << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 60] Next > Last Page >>
