Really loved the huge chunky chips. The portions were big. The decor was very modern. The soup starter was absolutely beautiful though. Looking forward to returning again soon for steak...what they really do best!!! Well ahead of most gastropubs, Ryan's has offered top-notch steaks sandwiches, juicy burgers and home-made fries since a few years ago. Surrounded by its uique atmosphere, this is a place to enjoy your fine meat over a glass of stout, etc. Just wish their staff was friendlier. Joined Jan 10 9 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Has to be the best French onion soup ever!! We ate in the bar, so on the high stools. The barmen served, and they were very polite and prompt, even asking if we enjoyed. Loved it, and would deffo recommend it for lunch anytime. My partner had the cornish pastry, a little shy on content but tasty, I went for the baked potatoe - I know it's simple but I cant tell you how delicious it was, I think it had to be basted in butter - whatever, I raved about it. I've eaten here many times but not recently I wont be leaving it as long for my next visit. The service I encountered though a little slow was well worth the delicious starter of mussels and main of salmon, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Reasonably priced and excellent quality made for an enjoyable experience that I wish to repeat in the future. FXB @ Ryan's is ideal for a quick drink before heading up to "bijou" restaurant. Girlfriend really enjoyed the calamari while I tucked into a medium cooked fillet steak, red wine jus and beautiful homemade chips. No ketchup was needed for the chips as the juices from the sauce & steak were gorgeous enough. Small regret that I didn't get a side dish of mushrooms. Very good steak, value too. Gorgeous Bordeaux wine (a blend of cabernet & merlot) set it all off. Was hoping for a cheeseboard, to no avail. Highly recommended. Return visit is imminent. You are guaranteed a great meal everytime, with very friendly efficient waiting staff. The food is delicious and the new early bird menu is really good value. I had the toad in the hole on this occasion, which was massive and so tastey. I look forward to returning again very soon. << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 10] Next > Last Page >>
