Gotham Café is a casual eatery serving good food in a laid back environment, starting with a light breakfast menu in mid-morning and carrying right through until late night with an extensive and varied menu. Our concept is to deliver top quality food, at reasonable prices, in an unpretentious and casual setting. Gotham Café is a neighbourhood restaurant where you can relax, chill out and enjoy yourself without feeling too worried about the size of the bill at the end! It can fulfil many needs, being suitable for a quick meal if you are on your way to the cinema or theatre, to a full three course menu with coffee when you are in the mood for a little more. Much of our menu and, of course, all of our signature pizzas, utilise our stone pizza oven which was imported for us from Washington State in the USA. These pizza ovens are regarded as the best in the world and we believe help us create outstanding pizza bases. Our pizza dough is freshly made every day, on the premises, using just five ingredients: flour, water, yeast and small amounts of salt and sugar. Handy spot for a quick bite if you're shopping on Grafton Street. I had a pizza with sweetcorn, ham and mushroom & it was delicious. The place was hopping! Nice vibe here too. We arrived about 10 minutes early, our table was ready and we were seating no problem. The menu is plentiful and varied. They do have an early bird special but we all ordered from the main menu in the end. We shared some garlic bread which was warm and delicious. For main there was a mixed bag ordered. Pizza (Upper East Side was gorgeous) Vietnamese Beef (tasty) Coconut curry of some sort I was told was very good, sea food salad which was huge and looked amazing! Green Thai Veg curry was a little bland but with some black pepper just about cut it! All in all everyone was happy with their mains. We had 4 bottles of wine between us which went down very well at a reasonable price. Deserts came in the form of chocolate cake, sticky toffee pudding and sorbet. All of which were heavenly! All in all we had a great time and although we had to give the table back at a certain time we didn't feel rushed - the kitchen handled our orders very well. Would definitely go back again. Lovely friendly staff, great food & really good value always. They do great salads- esp the chicken caesar & the prawn & mango salad. Pizzas are excellent too- always consistent and thin & crispy base. The only way to eat Pizza.Wine list is one of the best value around- my fav is the New Zealand sauvigon blanc or the Spanish Rose sitting outside on a sunny day when I should be back in work- lifes too short!! We ordered one starter and two main courses between 3 of us the starter arrived alot smaller portion than before, we also ordered a bottle of wine. We waiting nearly 3/4 of an hour for the pizza to arrive the wine was finished and they asked us would be like to order another bottle, I told them it was the food we wanted. They apologises said the orders not mixed up they eventually arrived, food was ok but very expensive for what you got. Wont be back for a long time ... Pity!!
