When summer blows one last warm breath across an autumn day, it's time to finish those outdoor chores and have a little fun before winter comes to stay. "Indian summer" is the commonly used meteorological term for abnormally warm weather in mid or late autumn with generally clear skies, sunny, hazy days, and cool nights. Here at Indian Summer we have tried to frame snatches of it for you. The Bright Staircase at the entrance lights up with light yellow and red colours which gives you an awareness of whats to come ahead. At INDIAN SUMMER, this unique offering will take you, our guest, on a gourmet journey of India's four cuisine regions. The choice of North, South, East and West are yours. Dawmy (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 55%   Visited: 04 Jun 2010 | Posted: last month Ate here on a Friday night with my husband. We haven't been here in months and after work on a Fri decided to head there for dinner. The menu had changed a bit but the food was still as good as ever. The service was excellent too. Great for couples and families alike. we are going back there again soon but going for an earlier dinner this time with our children as they love the chicken tikka masala here and they do half portions. Well worth trying if you haven't been there before. The food, service and location were top class. and I would recommend highly. My only negative was that is a little on the expensive side, but it is a top class Indian for sure so they probably can charge that little bit extra '); //--> Joined Jul 07 16 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... danielle00 (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 59%   Visited: 05 Jun 2010 | Posted: last month Visited with family and two guests. I really liked most of the decor and our waiter was extremely helpful when we asked him anything about the menu. On the table was a selection of four dips and poppadums, which were very moreish! Bypassing starters in favour of naan bread and sides to share, I went for the Goan seafood curry, which consisted of a (delicious) scallop, prawns and crab claws (which I didn't know were in the curry and wasn't too keen on, but that's just my personal taste). The portion size was good, but I wish there had been a bit more seafood. I thought the sauce was ok, but the menu had omitted to mention that it had coconut in it, which I'm not the biggest fan of, and felt that it needed a bit more of a spicy kick. The garlic naan was crispy, light and delicious, as was my side dish of Kadhai Paneer - we should have ordered more as others thought it exceptional aswell. To finish, I just had to try the rose creme brulee, which was really good; perfectly done and beautiful looking, even if I couldn't really taste the rose. I also had a taste of the cardomom dessert - like icecream, but with a slightly different, pleasant texture and also delicious. I would go back to Indian Summer - I enjoyed the food overall and liked how the place was set out and the friendly atmosphere. The menu was much smaller than dinner with only 4 main course options, which is fine as it was very cheap. The starters were fine, but the main was very disappointing. I had the chicken, which came in a watery flavourless sauce, nothing in compression the their usual sauces, it seemed watered down. I also asked for it extra spicy but they did not even attempt to do this giving me the same as everyone else at my table, mild & watery. I would much prefer to see them do a more expensive menu & serve good food than eat this. I won’t be back for lunch, nor would I recommend it to anyone for lunch but it’s a good dinner spot as per my earlier review. We ate off the early bird menu which was excellent value and we had our €10 free voucher as well! The restaurant were very accommodating to my 'no spicy food for me' friends who all enjoyed their Chicken Korma. Service was excellent and all in all a great evening! It was not packed. The service was brilliant & the food amazing. I totally enjoyed it & have nothing bad to say. Cant wait to go back. They now have a beautiful tapas bar at the back which I am dying to try. Well worth a visit & very in-expensive. We were greeted warmly and immediately were given popadums and 3 different dips. We decided to start by sharing a mixed starter platter for 3 people. Marinaded chicken pieces , jumbo tandoori prawns , minced lamb Kebabs in pastry and vegetable stuffed Somasas. The starters were full of indian spice flavour and there was lots " yummmmm" talk going on around the table as we scoffed it down. For mains I had Lal Maans which is a hot and smoky Lamb Curry . I also had a lamb stuffed Naan Bread on the side. The lamb in my curry was soft and succulent and the sauce tasted sensational. Of my 2 friends, the first had a Chicken kozviharta curry dish which he loved and the other a Prawn coconut Curry which she quickly wolfed down. They both had plain basmati rice and a naan bread as well. We couldnt fit in dessert. With 2 glasses of wine and a sparkling water the bill came to €124 including the tip. This is a great restaurant which uses quality ingredients and it shows in the exceptional flavoursome food. Add the warm attentive service and you have a winner. It is Indian food but with a great twist. We will be back. ! << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 10] Next > Last Page >>
