Special offer: 50% off all full bottles of wine every Monday and Tuesday. Established in 1986, Les Freres Jacques is one of Dublin’s foremost and best loved French restaurants which has a uniquely French atmosphere with the accent on friendliness and informality. As members of the Seafood Circle one can expect traditional French cuisine that is essentially light and seasonal with the emphasis on a wide choice of fresh Irish fish and shellfish, as well as a variety of meat and game in season. Friday and Saturday evenings there is also live piano music. Restaurant Reviews Add Your Review » Your Say Joined Jul 10 1 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Fork Handles (First Timer) Credibility Score: 18%   Visited: 13 Jul 2010 | Posted: last week My family and I decided to go for the early bird/pre theatre with the half price wine on a Tues evening and had an absolute blast. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Dublin and we eat out a lot. The food, wine, service and ambience were all fantastic, I can't praise the place enough. We had a baby with us and were made to feel more than welcome by the staff who were absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to go back to Les Freres Jacques again. We had an absolutely thoroughly enjoyable evening - very attentive waiters - great attention to detail - the food was very well presented, hot and delicious - great choices on the menu and the early bird / dinner menus have great choices and reasonably priced given these recessionary times. We all enjoyed the night and already I have heard of two individuals rebooking to bring along a special friend. Will definitely be back. If I had to find one tiny tiny fault - could improve on the sides of vegetables( garden peas could have been improved with some sweetcorn & carrots & potatoes looks a bit rough& ready but tasted good. because everything else was so great I hate to even mention this ! None of us liked our starters - I had smocked fish and risotto - the whole thing just didnt work well together. However, we all loved the mains - I had the beef and altho the portioned seemed a little on the small side, I was very full by the end. We also had a bottle of house wine which was lovely. The service was excellent. Atmosphere was good as everyone was eating there before going to a show in the Olympia. Really enjoyed the experience and will be back. Most of us stuck to the non supplement menu items which were more than adequate. The food was sumptious and the service was classy: We enjoyed our meal immensely and the good humour of the waiters added to our evening. While the menu without supplements is restricted, most people will find something to their liking for the basic 2 course or 3 course early bird price. As in most of these establishments, the wine is pricey unless you stick with the house wine which was quite palatable. Great value for a lovely restaurant and I'll definitely be back again. The restaurant was a bit lifeless, I found myself whispering a lot. I had the sausage to start which was lovely and the sauce was so tasty. For my main course I had the pork which was also vey nice. The house white is lovely. I had the toulouse sausage starter, it was unusual in that I've never had bread and puree'd potatoes on the same plate, but it was pleasant. I went all out and had the sole meuinere for my main which had a surcharge. It was divine, heaven on a plate. The side of veg were crisp and tasty, I'd definitely go back! Starter and mains extremely nice. Confit duck divine and fillet steak was very nice. interestingly they only cook rare, medium or well-done, I love medium rare but steak was lovely all in all.All wine 1/2 price on Mondays and Tuesdays. Fantastic had a bottle of french house red only 11 quid couldn't believe it. waiter displayed the seafod specials on a tray... nice touch.Atmosphere not great, service good and food is up there. Great table d'hote offer also. The early bird menu seemed good value at first glance, with a wide selection of choices. However, on closer inspection we noticed that there were only about 4 choices at the early bird price as the rest all had supplements (some quite substantial). That said the food was good and the service was friendly. << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 22] Next > Last Page >>
