This is an excellent pub for a daytime pint and a chat. It serves excellent food which is reasonably priced. Attracts quite a few 'out to be seen people' of an evening but this is nicely balanced by regular drinkers out for a pint and a bite to eat. Relaxed and spacious, certainly worth a look. I declinded and just asked for chips...was still charged for the potatoes, which I couldn't eat! The chips were cold and hard...not impressed! To some, it conjures up childhood memories of barely warm, tiny shrivelled sausages. To others, food in a pub means a packet of Tayto, possibly Bacon Fries for he truly adventurous. The food in McCormack’s could not be more different from this. Ample portions are served in a pleasant and warm setting, with beautiful mosaics and conservatory-style windows in some areas, comfy couches and tables in nooks and crannys, and of course the shiny mahogony bar. A menu includes all the Irish favourites, carvery, various meaty sandwiches, but mcCormack’s also offers Veggie options and an array of pasta. Straddles the night-in and the night-out category comfortably, and has areas with and without big screens for the sporting lovers and loathers out there. A local gem. Main courses average out at approx €13 but they are well worth the money. My favourite dish is their cajun chicken which is served on garlic ciabatta with a small side salad and your choice of chips, baked potatoe or side salad. Most of their mains are fantastic - basic dishes but really well done. We tend to go here at least once a month as it is nice to relax and have a glass of wine with your dinner - excellent place Joined Dec 06 2 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... The food is excellent value for money and always hot and tasty. The selection of food on the menu is excellent and the portions are plentiful!
