The Early Bird offers exceptional value and the food is fantastic. We also got a lovely bottle of wine for €15.00 which delighted us! The service was courteous and efficient. Would most definitely recommend to anyone Joined Jul 08 1 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... callum (First Timer) Credibility Score: 31%   Visited: 02 Jul 2010 | Posted: last week We had a lovely meal here recently, we had the earlybird menu and it was great value at €18.50 for three courses with tea and coffee and there is a good selection on the menu. The staff were very friendly and efficent and there was a nice buzz about the place. the early bird is available 7 days a week now so I will be definitely back '); //--> Joined Jul 10 15 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... pamelac (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 36%   Visited: 15 May 2010 | Posted: 2 Weeks ago not great went a few times and wouldn't go back, the carvery downstairs is good value, it reminds me of a canteen and wouldn't be pushed on going back there either Joined Jun 10 13 Reviews 1 Hats Off! loading... flight supervisor (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 34%   Visited: 21 Jun 2010 | Posted: last month I tried the carvery here as we were out in Malahide for the afternoon. The girl serving was very pleasent, efficient and helpful. The woman taking the cash was unsmiling and could do with a refresher course in customer service. From a food point of view the carvery offered a good choice of different types of food that would suit everybody. The Food itself was very good in taste, temperature and portion size. Half size portions are readily available should one require this. Deserts were satisfactory. Everyone in my party was satisfied with what they had eaten. As it was a sunny day we retired to an area outside in the sun were patio tables and chairs are present. On the basis of this visit I would return again and I hope the next time I pay I will be met with a smile. '); //--> Joined Dec 08 3 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Day-ya (Newbie) Credibility Score: 26%   Visited: 30 May 2010 | Posted: last month I ate in Oscar Taylors Sunday 30/5/10 with my partner. We sat in the nice Window area looking out. Our fresh fish starters were amazing. It went down hill after that. We both went for the fillet steaks. I asked for medium done and it was well done and v chewy. €22 euros for that steak. It was supposed to be on Champ but it was on mashed potatoes. €2 for the peppered sauce which was like gravy with the pepper cernels thrown in. Awful. €3 for dish of over cooked breaded mushrooms which tasted like they were been kept warn and another €3 for the deep fried mushrooms which also tasted of being kept warm. I ended up leaving the meal. Good job we only had the one drink because the waiter didnt come back. There was a huge table of 28 people being served instead. No one could get their attention (as their were two other couples also in this predicament) to get the bills. Once we had our mains they didnt want to know us. With two french coffee's our bill came to €81 which personally is way over priced for the food we had. In its day it was a beaufitful restaurant but now its a way over priced restaurant with bad service and awful over cooked food. WILL NOT be going back!!!!! It was packed and hard to get a table. Food was nice but a little on the cold side. My elderly father in law had a senior citizen portion which is only 5.95euro. It is great value. Next time I will visit the restaurant and not have the carvery. Can always guarantee a good dinner out of this place. Good food, good service, and nicely priced. Although a little more expensive then other places in malahide, remember your paying for the good service, atmosphere and quality. Nice and big too. We find most other places in malahide quite small and everybody seems to be sitting on top of each other. Would recommend to anybody!!!
