The staff were really lovely, it seems to be the type of place where regulars return. I had curry spring rolls for starter which were very tasty. I was slightly disappointed with my choice of main(Duck) It was a large portion of duck served with a sausage stuffing. I felt it should have come with veg or some other side. However I had no complaints at all with the Bread and Butter pudding! Other dishes which were recommended were the Pate, Cajun Blacked Chicken and the stir fry. The kids menu is also brilliant value, with a good choice and large portions. It was a lovely sunny day and we enjoyed a drink al fresco in the beer garden of the pub downstairs. There were eight of us and we all enjoyed our meals very much.I had cajun chicken and savory rice and it nicest chicken I have had in a long time.Full of flavour and melt in the mouth. Side salad also tasty and delicious. The fresh cod my mam had also got thumbs up as did the duck and beef other members of the party had. I was too full for dessert but my aunt had the cheesecake and parents had apple pie.All declared winners! There is always a great atmosphere in reeves and the staff are fab. They make you feel very welcome and important no matter how busy they are. They are excellent and never appear flustered or under pressure. As previous reveiwers have stated, even with big groups they never mix up orders. Am really looking forward to visiting this delightful restaurant again. We were greeted by the Hostess who was very friendly and she showed us to our seats. The restaurant was fairly packed but it has a great buzz about the place. It was a little hot but once we requested that the air con be turned on it was fine, the staff were more than happy to accomadate us. I have to say the service is excellent and the waiter took a drinks order until every body was ready to order their food. When the food arrived the waiter knew exactly who had ordered which individual dish so there wasn't the usual confusion you might find in another restaurant. I had the pate to start and my sister in law had the prawns in garlic with rice & both were exceptional. My main course was a fillet steak with pepper sauce the steak was beautiful and the sauce perfect. All in the party really enjoyed the food. The bill was €420 which included the service charge for parties 8 or over. I thought this was good value as half of us had 3 courses and plenty of wine with our meal. I will definatly be back again. The food here is absolutely gorgeous, great selection and there is something for everyone, the atmosphere is lovely as it is a cosy restaurant above a pub which is very handy if you fancy a few drinks after the meal rather than going home! The staff are extremely friendly and accomadating and the value is excellent, i will be going back very very soon '); //--> Joined Aug 09 3 Reviews 1 Hats Off! loading... eatoutber (Newbie) Credibility Score: 28% Visited: 12 Sep 2009 | Posted: over 2 months ago Went to Reeves with a large group of family members. Service was excellent. The staff knew exactly who had ordered what when the food came out. No shouting out dishes. The food was delicious and nobody had any complaints. Price was reasonable for 3 courses plus drinks. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant and it is in a handy location if you want a quiet drink before or after your meal in the local pub. Only booked at last minute and luckily got table. 2 courses still only €21 incl tea or coffee but the 50cl bottle of wine cost us €12.50 - listed as being €9!!! Can't complain as food very tasty, great choice and staff lovely. Only complaint on the night was the weather - and can't blame Reeves on that! Joined Feb 08 16 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... The service was excellent, the menu was varied and the food was top class. We had booked for 8 o clock and they were ready for us but they did not rush us. I would be happy to bring others here and will probably be a frequent customer. Overpriced and bland food. Have been here 3 times. After my last experience I will never returning. The chicken wings for starters were very bland. I asked for garlic bread with cheese and NO garnish. My starter came out with salad and herb dressing all over it and the dressing was even on the bread. I said to the waiter to ensure my Burger had no Garnish. The burger seemed fine until i bit into it, it was full of onions, so i called the waiter and told him I couldnt eat it or I would be very sick. I got steak and chips instead (a tiny steak at that). The chips had been cooked in a hurry and were lumpy. My wife said the Chicken Conor was also extremely bland like her starter so she didnt eat it. Her 11 year old niece ordered roast beef which was nice but was €17 for a carvery style dish for a child!! The bill was over €90. This restaraunt is overpriced, overrated and the food gets worse every time. The waiters dont listen to your order and it takes forever for them to bring you a drink. Not impressed at all.
