One of the things that make Saagar a sure success is their amazing attention to detail. It is no wonder this restaurant has been winning prestigious awards like Sharwood`s Best Oriental Restaurant of the year 1997 and is on Bridgestone`s 100 best in Ireland guide since 1996.The menu has many wonderful regional options and be sure to sample a fiery curry. Complimented by a well thought out wine list, this is simply a great restaurant. The A la Carte Menu is available at both Lunch and Dinner times. We all got the credit crunch deal which is very good value at €9.55. Had the onion bhaji for starter which was really good. Had chicken tikka masala with rice and naan for my main course which were all fine. For less than a tenner you'd be hard pushed to find a better lunch. The restaurant occupies the basement of the building so its a little concealed. The tandoori chicken was very tasty and i liked the way you could choose to have either a half or full portion. The flavours were good too with a nice blend of herbs and spices. The service was nice n prompt and i must say the waiter was lovely:) '); //--> Joined Feb 10 6 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... abrakadabra (Foodie) Credibility Score: 18% Visited: 16 Mar 2010 | Posted: 2 Months ago Went there for the first time with a friend and really enjoyed it. The place was pretty quiet but food was lovely. If you like wine, they were pretty much out of stock that night so we got just house wine. Really nice staff as well. Had a very disappointing experience with a saag paneer there at christmas, so had no real desire to go back. People at work have made it quite a regular and trying to convince me how great it was, so gave it another go and..........no. Nice starters, great service but mains were just boring. That is all. We went for one of their deals...2 courses and a bottle of wine...€40 total...great price for what we got. Food was excellent too and the portion size just right and everything well presented. Poppadums and dips were also a nice touch. Service was good too...very friendly staff and always checking if everything was ok. Would definitely recommend it and will be going back again soon. I like the tandoori mixed grill. The staff are perfect, they know when you want something, but they leave you alone. It's not a place I want to linger in though. They should however try to put a bit more spice in their food! The offers that are on at the moment are very good value. The food is very enjoyable and the service is great. I will go back for sure and would recommend others to try it out. It's been very quiet whe I've been in so hopefully it'll pick up for them soon. << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 15] Next > Last Page >>
