A nice local with a mixed crowd - the older partons stick to the bar and the younger ones head for the lounge. Nice beer garden for those sunny days. She had a lasagne with chips and I had kids chicken nuggets with chips. Both portions were huge and very appetising. I was surprised at the high quality of the food -especially the nuggets. I also had wine which was very tasty for a house wine in a pub. I will definitely be going back. The two courses plus 2 wines and a pint came to €40.00 which was very reasonable Joined Sep 08 23 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... They serve a bistro style menu and always have a about 4 or 5 specials. The menu itself for a pub is a tad pricey but the specials are quite good value. Our food was well presented and the portions were huge. I had smoked cod and it was freshly battered with a large salad, chips and tartare sauce. The batter on the fish was very nice but a little over seasoned considering the smoked cod is quite salty also. I still cleared my plate though. It was also only €9.95. My friend got a rib eye steak which was also on the specials for €12 and it was cooked really well lots of veg and potatoes on the side. As far as service and atmostphere it's fine, it is just a pub at the end of the day. I couldn't comment on their carvery food but the weekend menu was suprisingly good for a pub.
