No bother though, as this place has a lovley relaxed atmosphere and good food to keep you satisfied (my meal was huge, I don't know who they thought they were feeding, a rugby player maybe?). Anyway, with friendly staff (they were fine with my request for chicken with the lovely goats cheese salad for an extra euro), good prices, and tealights in eggcups, it's the perfect place to stop at for lunch, grab a sandwich to go, or relax at over tapas in the evening. One of your best bets in Dun Laoighaire. Music was very good and the atmosphere in this little cafe is perfect. The cakes look and taste delicious. Unfortunately bookings are now required well in advance on friday and saturday nights so a random visit is out of the question thus taking the spontaneity out of tapas. The music was a bit manic at first but they changed it without hesitation or question to something a little more mellow as soon as we mentioned it. The only negative was that my gluten free sandwich came with "ordinary" pesto pasta on the side - I think if somewhere advertises gluten free / coeliac options they need to pay more attention to the little things like this - it was changed of course but it instantly undermines my trust in a place. On the whole though we had a great lunch and I'd definitely be keen to return for the tapas night! Id even say they do the best breakfasts in Ireland. Anyway, one of the waitresses told me about their tapas night with live music, so i booked in for the Saturday night and was blown away by the food and the music. They had Jazz duet playing which were amazing, ive never seen anything like it in Ireland, and they food was superb. we had anti pasti, lamb koftas, flambed prawns, calamari, chicken skewers, blackpudding stacked ontop of baked apple which was they best food ive had in a long time. All in all id recommend anyone and everyone to go here for a good night out. There are few places in the area that open late for food so it's always nice to find a new option. Live music was genuinely brilliant, not the usual background elevator music you get. I had a desert (berry cheese cake) and a glass of wine and both were lovely, particularly the wine. Their pies looked to die for, proper thick home made by the looks of it, so I think I'll have to go back again to try them out. After sitting a while my friend ordered some bravas and they were grand. The atmosphere is the real selling point, nice place to sit for a good long while listening to the music with a glass of wine. The apple, potato and black pudding dish was lovely and interesting though! The lamb skewers were nice, and the patatas bravas are always good. I hope they bring back the suppli option - it's a favourite! Joined Oct 09 3 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... Good Wine (Newbie) Credibility Score: 17% Visited: 30 Oct 2009 | Posted: over 2 months ago A great little restaurant offering an unique service with the tapas menus which I really enjoyed with some fine wine which was reasonably priced. Have tried to go again but booked out for the tapas night. Also had a great Sunday brunch a few weeks after my October visit, can not remember the date with service and food excellent as before. Eat in or take away. Upscale in feel, and atmosphere, but not necessarily price. The service is ALWAYS friendly and relatively quick. Order ahead if you know you're getting take-away as it can get jammers in there around lunch time. A welcome addition to our neighborhood, always happy with my sandwich! << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 9] Next > Last Page >>
