The Old Punch Bowl, Booterstown, Co. Dublin is a family run pub with the quaint warm atmosphere of days gone by. The Restaurant features candlelight dining in an old country atmosphere. Natural stone and wood are the welcoming features. A landmark on Dublin's most famous costal road overlooking the bay and Howth and leading from the south city to Blackrock, Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey, Killiney and beyond ... The Punch Bowl has stood sentimental for decades, wondering at the frantic changes surrounding it- yet quietly listening, watching and serving good food and drinks while providing also an atmosphere of memorable proportions. Sallygrif (Foodie) Credibility Score: 32% Visited: 12 Mar 2010 | Posted: over 2 months ago I went with a friend to the Old Punch Bowl for a sandwich at lunchtime. I really like the atmosphere in this pub. However, we ordered a sandwich each - one with fries and one without. The sandwiches arrived as if they were thrown together - slice of ham, slice of cheese, bread cut in two and on a plate - no effort to present them in an enticing manner - its a long time since I got a sandwich without a little salad or crisps on the side. The sandwiches tasted just as they looked - dull and uninteresting. I wont be going back '); //--> Joined Nov 08 31 Reviews 4 Hats Off! loading... aphrodite (Guru) Credibility Score: 60% Visited: 06 Nov 2009 | Posted: over 2 months ago I live locally and eat here on a regular basis, the staff are always warm and welcoming and the food is consistantly good. I usually have the lasange or the steak and chips and they are good value for money and the portions are very generous so you won't be leaving hungry. If you haven't tried this place already you should give it a go, you will be pleasantly surprised.
