Situated in the heart of Dublin’s busy tourist area the Porterhouse le Bar is quite simply your favourite pub waiting to be found. With its warm wood and brass design, it boasts 3 floors of beer loving Nirvana. The Porterhouse brewing company is the world’s largest genuine Irish brewery, brewing 9 beers (3 stouts, 3 ales & 3 lagers) added to by seasonal specials. With a selection of guest beers on draught and a huge collection of bottle beers from around the world, The Porterhouse offers a drinks menu which is unbeatable this side of Willy Wonka, should he have chosen beer instead of chocolate! Bookings for large groups (i.e. 10 people or more) can be made Monday – Thursday until 7pm, Friday until 6pm. No bookings are taken Saturday or Sunday. There is no charge for bookings however tables will be reserved for a maximum of ½ hour. Full evening menu is available throughout the day until 9.30. A finger-food menu is available at €10 per person. Bookings for Christmas are accepted. Pub wise, great athmosphere. Yeah, would recommend it!! Decent burger for a hungry man. Not the best pub grub in town but no where near the worst. Also serves aspall cider which imo is one of the best traditional english ciders Not the best layout as most seats have no fews of TV '); //--> Joined Jun 10 4 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... petrugio (Newbie) Credibility Score: 13%   Visited: 11 Jun 2010 | Posted: last month Met with friends for a few pints Friendly staff Good value for money Joined Apr 09 12 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... oya (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 45%   Visited: 09 Apr 2010 | Posted: last month One of my favourite food serving pubs in the city centre, with a huge choice of beer, good music and atmosphere. Usually very busy so my friends and me ended up eating at the bar, which didn't bother us much. Food is exactly what it says on the menu. Good spot and I recommend it to beer lovers. For 24 Euro it was terrible. Have you ever seen ribs deep fat fried? Get this platter and you will, which in turn leaves them dry and horrible tasting. The garlic bread should not be called garlic bread, it was just bread with butter. The chicken wings were not wings, horrible shaped things that didn't taste great either. I don't eat sausages so I can't comment personally, except to say that the people eating them weren't the best. The onion rings were the best on the platter and they weren't the best either. And the chips were just greasy. I will never get a platter in here again. I'm not sure I will even return to this pub as my friends glass had lipstick on it. We tried to complain to the staff but I'm not sure if they even understood us because they certainly didn't do anything about it. In my opinion these platters are left there, reheated and given to people who have had a few too many drinks and think the food is ok. Far from it. And I will not be recommending this pub or its grub to anyone. Tourists must come for the selection of alcohol, certainly not the food. Nice casual atmosphere where some people ate and others didn't. Just had some side orders which were hot and tasty. However not homemade. Friendly service. Live music was a bonus. Had previously eaten here a number of times a few years ago, food still same standard. << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 16] Next > Last Page >>
