Local pub, gloriously overlooking Dublin Bay, The Yacht always does a roaring trade. Serving food seven days and catering to a varying age bracket makes The Yacht a favourite with both young and old. Feeney (Guru) Credibility Score: 86%   Visited: 19 May 2010 | Posted: 2 Months ago This was the third time eating here since the refurb....will not be back again! Our food arrived in drips and drabs and when we complained to the manager in charge he was so rude....it seems someone else grabbed part of our order and hence it came out in installments! The waitresses look miserable and run off their feet and hence you feel neglected as a customer...The staff are like the food.....COLD! I will head elsewhere where I am guaranteed my business is welcomed by the staff...a friendly environment is not much to ask for? Joined Sep 07 9 Reviews 3 Hats Off! loading... Ezzy (Foodie) Credibility Score: 48%   Visited: 16 May 2010 | Posted: 2 Months ago After a long leisurely stroll along the seafront in Clontarf my girlfriends and I decided to top it off with a some food in the Yacht. I was a bit apprehensive from other reviews that we would have a long wait but when we arrived around 5pm the long queues has diminished though the pub was fairly packed. I decided on the Beef Lasagne and salad and at €12.50 I thought it was a bit steep compared to other places around but there was plenty of food for the price the salad was heaped high and the lasagne was delicious. There were a lot of younger lads coming in and their dinners were enormous. Plenty of variety for the carvery and infact real value for money. Enjoyable meal and the chefs were very attentive to each persons request. We used to frequent here years ago and had no clue that it was renovated etc! We arrived quite early around 12.30ish with grand parents in tow and have to say congrats on the re-furb the place looks great! Really love the new look. Five of us in total, 2 had beef, 2 had turkey and 1 veg lasagne. Top marks all round, beef in particular was excellent. With a couple of glasses of red and a couple of cokes, 1 dessert, 2 teas and a coffee, plus a 10% tip, our bill was under 100e, there was a particularly lovely waitress, she was so patient and really looked after us very well! We'll be returning very soon! Nothing fussy about this place! A carvery is a carvery, but this is a very great one! We went there at about 5.30 so it wasn't too busy. We found a table easy enough and were promptly served. The food was really nice and the atmosphere really relaxed. There was plenty of waiting staff to attend to any of our needs. The price was very reasonable only 40 euro for 2 mains, 2 deserts and 4 glasses of coke. I will definitely go back here for food and look forward to trying out something else on the menu. I had a burger which was really nice however there was just a bit too much burger for me!! My OH had a chicken baguette which was also a very large portion of food. My only complaint is the toilets were really smelly and as someone else mentioned the parking is not great so you would have to find a parking spot near by. DocOc (Foodie) Credibility Score: 30%   Visited: 09 Apr 2010 | Posted: over 2 months ago Fairly disappointed after just dropping in after a stroll along the strand with my girlfriend. We grabbed the fajitas, and were hugely surprised when what could only be described as a wrap arrived out. It was pretty good, but tasted more like Peking Chicken than fajita. Given that personally the whole point of fajita is the building of the fajita itself, I was pretty gutted. Still, tasty enough even if it was not what was expected. Value was good enough too, but I wouldn't rush back or recommend it to any of my friends in a rush. Looks great since the refurb (but may be more suited to a night club feel with the tiled pillars!). The queues for the carvery were ridiculous and at the price should really be table service. Would not go again for food, maybe drinks. Joined Mar 10 1 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... It looks great now but the queues for the carvery are unreal. Seating was very limited aswell. The food is delicious and the portions are really big but the queue is just so off putting that I havent returned since << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 17] Next > Last Page >>
