However, after finishing these and after 40 mins of waiting for the mains we were told that as I ordered the Gluten Free pasta that this was causing a delay, as it had to be cooked fresh. From my own experience GF pasta will not take anywhere near this. When our meals were finally brought out it was clear that our order had been forgotten. THe chicked my fiancee had ordered was dry and cold as it had been sitting under the lights. My GF pasta was severly undercooked. We sent both back and asked for the bill. We were charged for the starters and left. Before leaving we were offered a free drink as compensation (for a couple who had sat there for 2 hours without drinking alcohol we found this mediocre response) The waiters didn't seem to care that we were left waiting and the fact that they platently lied and tried to cover up a mistake which if explained we would have been more than reasonable about. Overall we spent 2 hours and recieved only starters, missed our movie and has a miserable night. The food seemed promising from the starters, but with the service we received we will not be returning Joined May 07 56 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... trix (Guru) Credibility Score: 86% Visited: 09 Jul 2010 | Posted: 3 Weeks ago I really like this restaurant! The portions are huge, the service nice and attentive, and there is a lovely atmosphere in there. For my starter I stuck to my usual and had the suppli - which come with a good sized side salad & a lovely garlic sauce - These are huge - so a word to the wise, make sure you're hungry! For my main then I had the chicken - which was grilled and served with a lemon sauce, and I opted for a baked potato alongside it. It was lovely & again, a huge serving. My boyfriend went for the bruchetta to start with, then he had one of their pizzas, with ham, sweetcorn and mushroom. It was huge & very filling - along with lashings of chilli oil, it was fab. They have a nice wine list here too, and the house white is very nice. The tables are fairly quashed together so not very romantic. Dont think id go back. However if your looking for a quick bite before a show its handy located on Dame st. Being used to good, affordable Italian food, we found the place to be over-priced, the food far from fantastic, and the wine selection not the best. The food was rather bland, and the seafood was not fresh. The service was somewhat bad at first, although it was remedied towards the end of our dinner. Will give it another try though. We all got the tiger prawns in filo for starters, and although the sauce with them was a bit too spicy, we still enjoyed it. For mains I got penne with spinach and mushrooms - and no exaggeration, it was the nicest pasta I've ever had - delicious! The others also loved their lasagna and fillet steak. For dessert, we opted for choc sponge cake, bailey's cheesecake and Tiramisu - all very well received :) And a huge thanks to our waiter, who was very attentive to all our needs and made us laugh to boot! Previously when I had eaten here I found every dish to be too garlicky so on this occasion I chose dishes with no garlic in them. To start I had the suppli. The portion was very big. I found them to be bland. For main course I had Tagliatelle Alla Toscana which was lovely and creamy. The service here is very good. The tables can be a bit cramped. The desserts are great, especially the chocolate cake.
