Tiptoemushroom (Newbie) Credibility Score: 10% Visited: 14 Jun 2010 | Posted: last week Myself and three guests visited this restaurant on the evening of Monday the 14th of June. We did not have a booking but the restaurant only had one table eating when we arrived. We were seated upstairs in a lovely bay window and ordered a bottle of prosecco. After waiting for a very long period of time our order ws taken. The starters arrived (eventually) and were nice. Two of my guests and myself ordered steaks for the main course. After another wait for the starters to be cleared we ordered wine. All three steaks were very overcooked. I asked for M/R Fillet and got a WD Ribeye. The waiter proceeded to tell me that I definitely ordered Rib eye. All three steaks were sent back. One guest wanted her food cooked rare (it too was well done) The other guest changed and ordered a different dish. Still no wine. My fillet then arrived. cooked Well Done again. My friends Ribeye that she ordered Rare was M/W. She ate hers as she was hungry and the other two guests had finished their meal at this stage. The waiter suggested he could get me some crab claws. I said OK as was very hungry. No apology. No manager came to see our table. We were charged for everything. Nightmare experience. Can be quite busy, so need to book. i went with my mum, and we both had the garlic mushrooms to start, and are among the best i have tasted. She then had the pollo diavola, which was really nice. i had burger, which was a little dry but good all the same. the chocolate orange bomb for dessert is to die for, but an expandable waist is required if getting all 3 courses. Garlic Mushrooms to start were just great, and I only wish I had some bread to mop up all the lovely garlicy sauce at the end! I followed up with pizza as I find it impossible to order anything else when pizza is on the menu! It had a perfect thin base and fresh tasty ingredients on top, really good and not a slice left. We were quite a mixed group and the menu catered for everyone, and the staff were helpful and very accommodating, even in their vocal talents for the singing of Happy Birthday to one of our party! On a return visit I would love to sit outside with a huge glass of wine and watch the sea whilst eating more pizza!
