Ukiyo Bar is Dublin’s premier late night bar, restaurant and entertainment venue. Open from 12pm till late 7 days a week, especially on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday when we keep our kitchen open past midnight. At Ukiyo we strive to provide our customers with a unique dining and entertainment experience from the best value lunches, to great sushi and sake in the evening, attentive and knowledgeable service, top shelf cocktails and some of the best club nights in Dublin at the weekend. However, it’s what happens in our basement karaoke booths that most people know us for, making Ukiyo the immediate choice for a first date, a birthday party or a corporate bash. We have been established for five years and have the experience and dedication to make your night out as pleasurable and memorable as possible… But downstairs is where the real action takes place...... You have to be willing to wait for about twenty minutes for some of the main courses, but in the case of the beef bulgogi, it's well worth it. My boyfriend always orders it and finds it delicious. The helping is quite large, meaning that ordering the extras is entirely unnecessary. I have had the bi bim bap which is an interesting dish consisting of vegetables, rice, salad leaves, a fried egg and two different sauces. The idea is that you add as much of the two sauces as you wish and then mix all the ingredients throughout the meal. The flavours develop the more you mix. I was really impressed with this meal, which when it arrived made me apprehensive. As for desserts, we always have the cheesecake which is beautifully gooey and quite rich. There tends to be a good atmosphere in this restaurant as it's popular with the young, professional crowd. For the most part everyone was very happy with the food. The service was excellent also. The karaoke downstairs was a great laugh, though I was dreading it beforehand. They have a great selection and great facilities. I would highly recommend this spot for a memorable night out. We all ordered starters and mains and ended up sharing them out. Portion sizes more than generous, everything was delicious, really relaxed atmosphere, only down side was they were out of prawns, something about suppliers but had the vegetarian dumplings and the mackerel were both superb. Would recommend it to everyone, suitable for all kinds of groups, defo going to go back. :) Joined Mar 10 13 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... beasht (Connoisseur) Credibility Score: 37%   Visited: 22 Apr 2010 | Posted: 2 Months ago a group of 10 of went fo some sushi and karoke, the atmosphere was lively and it was quite busy, menu had a huge selection with a massive selection of sushi all different types, great value with the bento box though, so i would defo advise people to try it, try the early bird menu/lauch menu, grt value. also to cap the nite off spent an hour doing karoke, defo worth a try even just to say you tried it. all in all a grt nite, meal was quite expensive though Joined Feb 08 27 Reviews 0 Hats Off! loading... guinnessman (Guru) Credibility Score: 63%   Visited: 20 Mar 2010 | Posted: over 2 months ago We were a large party and we were well looked after. The food is an mixture from Japan, Korea and maybe a hint of European. The place isn't suitable for a quiet meal but is great for large groups. Service was fast and most importantly given the night we were having the bar service and selection is very good. We'll be back but only as a group booking. Our table wasn't ready on our arrival, but we didn't mind waiting. Food was lovely, I started with beef springrolls as they didn't have any peking duck. I had the BBQ Eel for my main, I would highly recommend that dish. The Karaoke was also very good. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening, not suitable for formal dining but a good place to go for a casual evening.. I'll be back << First Page < Prev [Results 1 - 8 of 29] Next > Last Page >>
