YEATS: THE LIFE AND WORKS OF WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS
The National Library of Ireland has the largest collection of Yeats manuscripts in the world, and in addition, holds other fascinating Yeats material generously donated by Mrs George Yeats, wife of the poet, and Michael Yeats, the poet’s son, over several years. Material from this collection is now on display in the Library’s acclaimed exhibition. Covering many aspects of Yeats’ life and his development as a writer, this exhibition also gives visitors an insight into Irish social, cultural and political life from the late 1800s to the 1930s.

Christmas/New Years Opening Hours & Information
Visit the Library’s award-winning exhibition Yeats: the life and works of William Butler Yeats and its new exhibition ‘Strangers to Citizens: the Irish in Europe 1600 – 1800’ during the Christmas-New Year holidays. The exhibitions are open at the following dates and times:
Thursday 27 December – Friday 28 December: 9:30 – 4.45pm
Saturday 29 December: 9.30 – 12.45pm
Monday 31 December: 9.30 – 4.45pm
Guided tours of the Yeats exhibition will take place at 3.30pm each week day and at 11.00am on Saturday 29 December. A guided tour of the Library’s new exhibition Strangers to Citizens will take place on Monday 31 December at 2.30pm. Families can also follow the My Yeats family trail of the Yeats exhibition which has been especially designed to help children aged 7+ and their families to explore this acclaimed exhibition.
