Pearse Station

This is Dublin's third most important railway station, however, was the first railway station built in the country in the 1830s, when the Dublin-Kingstown railway line was opened. The photos show passengers boarding DART (light rail) trains. The railway line was opened before both the London and Paris underground railway systems, making it the world's first commuter railway line. Kingstown is now known as Dun Laoghaire. The station was known as Westland Row Station when it was first opened, as it is situated on Westland Row.
